Momentive will showcase its family of world-class LSR elastomer technologies at Medical Design & Manufacturing West, an event centering on medical devices and taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California on February 10-12, 2009. Momentive Announces SPUR+* HM High Modulus Prepolymers
The breakthrough prepolymers for industrial adhesives formulations
at the Adhesive and Sealants Council’s 2008 Fall Convention
& Expo in Baltimore, Maryland, October 12th to 14th, 2008.
SPUR+ 3100HM prepolymer and SPUR+ 3200HM prepolymer will join
Momentive’s highly successful SPUR+ family of silylated polyurethane
resins. These high modulus prepolymers are excellent candidates
to be considered for use as binding agents that can help formulators
of structural adhesives achieve high tensile strength, without
primers for most substrates, in both one- and two-part adhesive
formulations.
MOMENTIVE INTRODUCES LIQUID SILICONE RUBBER THAT IS CLEAR AND TRANSPARENT
The breakthrough LSR7000 series is a family of highly transparent liquid silicone rubbers (LSR) that combine typically 98 percent transparency with the unique processing and productivity advantages of an addition-cured, platinum-catalyzed LSR. The new LSRs are excellent candidates to consider for outstanding optical characteristics and increased design flexibility. These features potentially enable customers to reduce manufacturing and assembly cycle times for complex parts.

Momentive Announces Fully Fluorinated Silicone Liquid Elastomers (FFSLs)
Momentive Performance Materials has introduced fully fluorinated silicone liquid elastomers (FFSLs), a new, patented line of game-changing products in their elastomers portfolio. The new FFSLs combine fluorosilicones' physical and chemical properties with the unique processing and productivity advantages of an addition-cured, platinum-catalyzed liquid silicone rubber (LSR). This combination offers extremely fast cure speed, flashless, trim-free, fully automated injection molding as well as broad range temperature resistance and temperature stability. Fluorosilicones are widely used in automotive applications where excellent low temperature flexibility is required, along with the ability to withstand exposure to harsh environments created by fuel, oil, blow-by-gas, hot air, etc. The new Momentive FFSLs also bring a full set of chemical resistance properties comparable to those offered by commercial peroxide curable fluorosilicone heat cured rubber (FVMQ).
NXT Z* Silane, Breakthrough Coupling Agent, Available to Silica Tire Manufacturers in US; Soon to be Sold Globally
Momentive Performance Materials has announced that its NXT Z*
family of silanes is now commercially available in the United
States. Excellent products to consider for ease of manufacturing
and possible reduction of production cost for silica tires, NXT
Z silanes may virtually eliminate ethanol emissions and help produce
higher performing silica tires. NXT Z silanes have been formally
registered on the US Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) list
and registration is underway globally, including in Europe, Canada,
China, Australia and Japan.

Momentive Offers Lower Emissions, Lower Cost for Coupling Rubber
Momentive has introduced e-free* 189 silane, a new coupling agent that has the potential to enhance the manufacturing process for rubber goods by eliminating most ethanol emissions and by reducing production costs. The new material offers excellent overall performance, while typically improving processing characteristics such as reduced viscosity and faster cure with adequate scorch protection. e-free 189 silane may replace traditional mercapto silanes because it does not vulcanize prematurely, making it easier and potentially less costly to use than traditional silanes

Momentive Announces New Niax* Products
At a press conference at UTECH North America Exhibition & Conference, Momentive Performance Materials has announced an innovative family of Niax* silicone surfactants that may be cost-effective for use in low-density foam formulations for important applications such as footwear and automotive. Also, Momentive announced Niax silicone surfactant Y-16045 that offers the potential to substantially increase emulsion stability when resin components are blended into systems for the manufacture of rigid polyurethane foams for flexible metal-faced laminated boardstock, rigid metal-faced boardstock and bunstock blown with hydrocarbons.

Momentive Launches FRV138 Fluorosilicone Encapsulant to Protect Components from Shock, Heat and Chemicals
Momentive Performance Materials today announced the introduction of FRV138 two-component fluorosilicone encapsulant, a single product that may help protect sensitive components from both chemicals and mechanical stresses such as shock and heat. FRV138 encapsulant is a firm gel with a wide potential range of applications in the automotive, aerospace and chemical industry, where components need protection to withstand exposure to harsh environments such as extreme heat, cold or mechanical shock. FRV138 fluorosilicone encapsulant exhibits minimal absorption of fuels, oils, solvents or other chemical vapors and liquids.
Momentive Introduces Next Generation Silwet* Adjuvants for Ag
Momentive has launched new Silwet* HS-312 spreader and Silwet HS-429 penetrant at ISAA 2007 Agricultural Symposium in Columbus, Ohio. These new agricultural adjuvants offer increased hydrolytic stability to pesticide formulators, providing the opportunity to incorporate the performance and efficacy advantages of silicone spreaders and penetrants into "in-can" products. In the past, conventional silicone adjuvants could not be used successfully due to limitations on shelf-life.
